Life Member Designation: Have your say before the Survey Closes!

The COO is reviewing the current process of recognizing long-serving opticians after retirement, and we need your feedback. Please make sure to have your say before the survey closes.

Recent changes to the Registration Regulation end the College’s ability to offer the “Life Member” designation. The College is reviewing the designation including alternate ways to recognize long-serving retired opticians. Your input will help guide our decision.

The COO proposes:

• Replacing the “Life Member” title with “Honorary Retired Status” to better reflect the nature of the designation.
• Removing the designation from the public register and creating a dedicated webpage for Honorary Retired Status holders instead.

The survey will remain open until February 9, 2025. Time spent completing the survey can be claimed as self-directed CE. Your input is essential as part of our transparent and inclusive decision-making process.
