Nominations Open April 23 for COO Board Elections

Nominations for the 2025 COO Board of Directors Elections open on April 23, 2025. This is a great opportunity to get involved with the College and shape the future of the opticianry profession.

 

Which Districts Are Up for Election

 

The districts up for election this year are:

 

  • District 4 (Western): Counties of Bruce, Grey, Huron, Perth, Lambton, Middlesex, Oxford, Elgin, Kent and Essex.
  • District 6 (all Ontario; Contact Lens Mentor): Opticians residing/working anywhere in Ontario who are currently recognized as a Contact Lens Mentor.
  • District 7 ( Central Western): The counties of Dufferin and Wellington and the regional municipalities of Peel and Waterloo.

 

Nomination Period

 

  • Nominations Open: April 23, 2025
  • Nominations Close: May 23, 2025 at 12:00 p.m.

 

Election Period

  • Voting Opens: September 29, 2025
  • Voting Closes: October 14, 2025 at 12:00 p.m.

 

Term of Office

The successful candidates will serve a three-year term of office starting January 1, 2026.
