Share Your Feedback on Proposed Registration By-Law Changes

The College of Opticians of Ontario is inviting stakeholders of the College to provide feedback about proposed changes to the College by-laws relating to:

1. Fees for a new inactive class of registration
2. Professional Liability Insurance

The proposed changes are being made in preparation for upcoming amendments to the Registration by-laws that will, among other things:

• Introduce a new inactive Class of registration for opticians who are not currently practicing but wish to maintain their license
• Streamline the regulation by removing certain details ( e.g. professional liability insurance) out of the regulation so that they can instead be addressed in by-laws or policies, which are more flexible and easier to update.
