Quality Assurance Program

To assist Registered Opticians (RO's) in meeting their legislative obligations under the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991, the Quality Assurance (QA) Committee has developed a QA program that requires registrants to engage in self-assessment and professional development each year.

There are three parts to the Quality Assurance Program:

  1. Annual Completion of a Professional Portfolio.
  2. Random selection of Registrants to participate in the Competency Review and Evaluation process.
  3. On-site or remote Peer and Practice Assessment, if directed by the QA Committee.
